Coach Sportsmanship Guidelines

Coach Sportsmanship Guidelines

Pepperell Fall Classic strives to create a positive environment where children can enjoy a competitive tournament. This is heavily dependent on the actions of the coaches. All coaches have a responsibility to act as positive role models for the children. As such:

  1. Coaches should be encouraging, enthusiastic, and positive during the tournament.
  2. Coaches are accountable for ensuring their players use good sportsmanship at all times and are responsible for addressing any issue that may arise with members of their team.
  3. Coaches must abide by all tournament rules. Never shout at or argue with team officials, coaches, parents, players or tournament officials. Berating players or commenting on referee calls or abilities is prohibited. Referee calls and the decisions of tournament staff are final.

Pepperell Fall Classic adheres to a zero-tolerance policy. Violation of tournament rules, including conduct and sportsmanship guidelines, will result in immediate disciplinary action including but not limited to verbal warning and/or tournament suspension. Suspensions will be determined by a PFC Tournament Director and two Pepperell Soccer board members. There will be no refund on team fees if a disqualification occurs.

Prior to the start of tournament play, each coach must attest that if they or their team does not follow the guidelines listed above, they and/or the entire team will be disqualified and will need to leave the tournament.
