Code of Conduct
The PFC expects fair play and good sportsmanship from all participants. To help ensure this, the tournament adopts and enforces the following codes of conduct and policies of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer association:
- Coach’s Code of Conduct
- Player’s Code of Conduct
- Parent’s / Guardian’s / Spectator’s Code of Conduct
- Soccer Official’s Code of Conduct
- Zero Tolerance Policy
- Guidelines on Language Incidents & Discriminatory Acts
If you’re not already familiar with these codes and policies, please review them before coming to the tournament. They establish some standards you might not expect, but which are essential to respectful competition at the PFC, such as:
- Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their team’s spectators
- Spectators are not allowed to address referees unless a referee initiates a conversation, the spectator is pointing out an immediate safety issue, or the spectator is complimenting a referee after a match
- Coaches are not allowed to address referees during a match unless a referee initiates a conversation, or the coach is pointing out an immediate safety issue, making a substitution, asking about the direction or type of a free kick, or asking how much time remains
- Expressing disagreement with officiating is strictly prohibited
The PFC takes these standards seriously. Violations of the listed codes and policies may result in ejection from a game, the tournament, or other sanctions at the discretion of the PFC’s organizers.
If you witness a potential violation during the tournament, please notify a PFC staff member.
